Karina Sumner-Smith
Somehow you’ve reached the website of Karina Sumner-Smith, a Canadian writer of fantasy, science fiction, and YA. Welcome!
My writing career in a nutshell: my short fiction has been nominated for the Nebula Award, reprinted in best of the year anthologies, and translated into Spanish and Czech. I’m currently working on a novel (or three), and am represented by Sara Megibow of the Nelson Literary Agency.
The rest is still an adventure.
My blog is a little bit about writing and a little bit about publishing, but mostly about the experience of trying to create a future as a freelance writer and fiction author. There may also be random mentions of great books (as I fight to keep my towering to-read pile from crushing me in my sleep), my adventures as a performing member of an American Tribal Style bellydance troupe, my obsessions with tea and bacon and farmer’s markets, and my gleeful overuse of semicolons.
Among other things. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
